After six years as Content Agency of Record for one of the world’s largest retailers, The Home Depot, we recognized the need for a different model to help clients scale the creation of effective, audience-based content to meet modern digital demands. So in 2020, we spun off from full-service ad agency 22squared to build Trade School.

Trade School combines the strategic rigor and creativity of an agency, with the speed and flexibility of in-house production. This offers clients a new alternative to the traditional agency model to accelerate content creation without compromising on quality.


We often work as an extension of clients’ in-house teams, as today’s content volume demands typically outpace internal capacity. In-House+ helps clients augment their staff quickly and efficiently with specialty skill sets and omni-channel expertise. We integrate into existing workflows and systems to provide seamless collaboration.

MAILCHIMP

Creative Partnership

Mailchimp has an incredible in-house agency, but content demands were outpacing internal capacity. In order to help them scale, Trade School built a custom team - spanning strategy, creative, production, and PM - that integrated directly into Mailchimp’s creative team to help tell their story and promote their extensive suite of tools for small businesses.

Our work together spanned email, social content, website landing pages, long-form articles, and live events. We collectively developed streamlined workflow processes, and plugged directly into Mailchimp’s tools and systems (including Workfront, Figma, Slack, and a shared secure Google server), to enable seamless collaboration across teams.

 

Bi-weekly articles and emails leveraged Mailchimp’s existing assets and graphics packages, with content strategy, copywriting, and design provided by Trade School. Our integrated workflow enabled us to produce content in record time: articles and emails that it used to take months to develop were created and pushed live in a matter of days.

Mailchimp Open House and E-commerce Masterclass Series: This was a 2-week virtual event featuring 8 educational 45-60 minute courses taught by E-commerce experts across the globe, broadcasting live twice daily. Then we created a number of Mailchimp Masterclass Minis to deliver bite-sized pieces of educational content through social media.

Content at Scale

We create a significant volume of personalized content to help The Home Depot connect with multiple types of audiences across various DIY consumer journeys. One key entry point for the brand is the process of moving, so we’ve built a robust strategic framework and resulting content library to fuel our always-on campaigns for reaching new homebuyers across their nuanced moving journeys.


Content is concepted and produced with volume and flexibility top of mind to maximize production dollars. Our recent production yielded over 270 assets, that were then fed into our dynamic creative engine, resulting in 1,000+ unique units to fuel our full-funnel, audience-led strategies.

 
 

THE HOME DEPOT

How To Undo

You can find a how-to video for almost anything you want to learn. But what if you mess up while you’re trying that new project? It’s basically impossible to find anything to help you fix your mistakes.

We showed people how to fix the most common mistakes made when taking on a DIY project with our How To Undo content series. Partnering with influencer talent Mike Montgomery, we wrote, directed, and produced a 10-episode season for YouTube, shot in just 10 days at Trade School Studios.
